This song is about getting though the rough spots in a relationship that are so often blown out of proportion and find away to put it behind you and shine and shimmer anew. The title came about because I was admiring the sunlight shimmering on the ocean late one afternoon while taking a coffee break outside my place. I reflected on the symbolism of getting one to ‘shimmer’ and sparkle to life after a rough patch in a relationship is beautiful, like the sunlight on the ocean. It resonated with me as I have many times helped someone come out of a funk and shimmer and shine again. I too, have had help returning to my shimmer and be my brighter, sunnier self.
