This song is about being in an addictive relationship that is hurting both people and about ultimately breaking free from that addiction. This has a lot of personal overtones as I had my own addictions that ultimately ruined a marriage, and cased a great deal of pain in the process. Despite the dark matter of addiction, the message is ultimately of triumph over addiction and the hope that we all can break free of addictions
